Boronia Park, Epping - District Playground Replacement

All feedback received during the consultation will be carefully reviewed and considered when designing the new playground and selecting new play equipment.
 

Council will assess the number of requests for particular types of play equipment, identify common themes and concerns raised by the community, and consider these alongside factors such as site constraints, budget, safety requirements, accessibility, maintenance needs, and the overall project scope. This helps ensure the final design balances the needs of different age groups, users, and members of the community.
 

While it may not be possible to incorporate every individual suggestion, sharing your ideas is important. Community feedback plays a key role in shaping the design and helps Council understand which features are most valued by the community, so these can be incorporated wherever possible.

Not necessarily. The types of play equipment included in the new playground will be determined through community feedback and we will also need to consider factors such as site constraints, accessibility requirements, maintenance needs, safety standards, and the overall project scope.

This means some existing play elements may not be replaced like-for-like if community feedback indicates they are no longer a priority, or if alternative play opportunities are identified as better meeting the needs of the community.

If there are specific play element features from the current playground that you would like to see retained, we encourage you to share your feedback. Your input will help Council understand which play features are most valued by the community and should be considered in the new playground design.

Yes. After this round one consultation period closes, all community feedback will be reviewed and used to help develop a draft concept design for the new playground.
 

Once the draft concept design is ready, Council will share it with the community for further feedback before the design is finalised and construction begins. This provides another opportunity for the community to review the proposed playground and help refine the design.
 

If you provide feedback to this project via the online survey, you will receive an email update when the concept design is available for public consultation. Alternatively, you can follow this project page or sign up to Participate Parramatta to receive notifications when the Boronia Park playground draft concept design is ready for review and feedback.

Each year a selection of playgrounds are included in Council’s annual Playground Replacement Program. Playgrounds are selected and identified from an annual playground safety and condition audit report, informed by regular inspections of all playgrounds across City of Parramatta. A condition rating is calculated for each playground, which determines its priority within the Replacement Program. When replacing and upgrading playgrounds, Council aims to improve accessibility where possible, focusing on elements which have been considered alongside the NSW Government’s Everyone Can Play framework and principles. These elements include providing at least two pieces of accessible equipment, accessible surfaces, seating with armrests and access to playgrounds via pathways. 不一定。 新游乐场将设置哪些游乐设施，将根据社区反馈决定，同时也需要考虑场地条件、无障碍要求、维护需求、安全标准以及项目预算和范围等因素。

Boronia Park 是一个区域级游乐场，比一般社区小型游乐场提供更多样化的游乐体验，适合更广泛年龄层的儿童使用。

目前游乐场设有以下设施：

游乐区 1（遮阳棚下）

• 小火车主题游乐设施
• 消防车主题游乐设施
• 滑梯
• 跷跷板
• 动物主题游乐设施
• 秋千

游乐区 2（自然探索区）

• 木质攀爬架
• 金属滑梯

游乐区 3

• 绳网攀爬设施（攀爬网）

其他游乐场设施

• 游乐区1上方的遮阳棚
• 游乐区1和游乐区3的安全软垫地面处理
• 游乐区2的松树皮覆盖地面及橡胶地面处理
• 乒乓球桌
• 两个饮水设施
• 垃圾桶
• 公园设施，包括野餐桌和座椅
• 步行道照明
• 环形步道
• 花坛
• 儿童骑行小赛道（Dinky Track）
• 烧烤设施
• 公共厕所

• 本次升级工程将重点更换游乐区1、2和3内老旧的游乐设施，同时在适当情况下保留较新安装、状况良好的设施。

本次游乐场更新的重点是更换老旧的游乐设施，包括滑梯、秋千、大型组合游乐设施及其他游乐设备，确保游乐场在未来约20年内继续满足不同年龄儿童的使用需求。

除了更换游乐设施外，项目还计划进行以下升级：

• 在游乐区1、2和3铺设新的橡胶安全地垫
• 在游乐区1安装新的较小型遮阳棚，让游乐场有更好的自然采光（该区域已有成熟树木提供遮荫）
• 改善儿童骑行小赛道（Dinky Track）
• 修复周边受损的混凝土步道，并在可行情况下加宽步道，提高无障碍通行性
• 扩大现有乒乓球桌周围的硬地范围，提供更大、更实用的活动空间
• 更换一个烧烤炉，安装新的无障碍烧烤设施，方便轮椅使用者使用
• 更换一个现有故障饮水设施

不属于本次项目范围的内容

以下内容不包含在本次游乐场更新工程中：

• 扩大现有游乐场范围或面积
• 升级野餐凉亭、公共厕所、健身设施、运动场、配套建筑或其他公园设施。这些设施目前仍状况良好，未达到需要更新的阶段，将在未来适当时候再进行翻新或更换。

在更新或升级游乐场时，市议会会尽可能提升无障碍和包容性设计，让更多儿童都能享受游乐设施，包括残障儿童。

在设计过程中，市议会会参考新州政府的 “Everyone Can Play（人人都能玩）” 指导原则，重点考虑以下方面：

• 提供适合不同能力儿童使用的游乐设施( 至少2件）
• 设置方便通行的游乐场地面
• 提供带扶手的座椅
• 通过步道改善进入游乐场的通行
