Proposed Night Time Parking Restrictions on Cambridge Street

In mid-2021, City of Parramatta sought feedback on a proposal to install night time parking restrictions on the western side of Cambridge Street in Epping, between Chester Street on the northern end and the roundabout on the southern end.

Prior to the recent construction of nearby residential apartment buildings, the affected parking spaces were generally available for commuters and local employees.

The installation of parking restrictions at night on the western side of Cambridge Street would deter residents from parking their vehicles at this location overnight and for longer periods. This would in turn free up on-street parking for commuters and local employees to use during the day.

Project update

Feedback on the proposed nighttime parking restrictions for the west side of Cambridge Street in Epping closed at 5:00pm on Tuesday 8 June 2021.

The consultation responses were received and have been taken into consideration. Thank you to everyone who provided feedback!

The Parramatta Traffic Committee at its meeting held on 20 October 2021 considered a report on this matter.

Council at its meeting held on 22 November 2021 considered the Committee’s recommendation and resolved:

  1. That 32 of the 76 parking spaces on the west side of Cambridge Street, Epping north of the roundabout have a ‘6P 7:00pm to 7:00am Monday-Friday’ parking restriction imposed on them as shown on the plan within the report.
  2. That a report be presented to the PTC and Council by the end of 2022 to review the ‘6P 7:00pm to 7:00am Monday – Friday’ parking restriction as detailed in recommendation 1.

Arrangements have been made to undertake the works by mid-January 2022.
