City of Parramatta Council is proposing to upgrade the existing pedestrian refuge island on Caroline Chisholm Drive (east of Olympus Street) by replacing it with a raised pedestrian crossing.
This upgrade aims to:
- Enhance road safety
- Provide a dedicated crossing point for the local community, especially those accessing Winston Hills Mall
- Improve visibility and encourage safer crossing behaviour in an area with frequent pedestrian activity.
The project is fully funded by the Australian Government’s Federal Road Safety Program.
Council is inviting submissions from the community on the proposed plan.
Submissions close at 5pm on Friday 13 February 2026.
