Epping Town Centre East Upgrades

In late 2024, proposed upgrades to Epping Town Centre East were placed on public exhibition. Submissions were welcomed until 5pm on Friday 29 November 2024.

Thanks to everyone who shared their thoughts during the public exhibition period!

The Project Team has carefully reviewed what the community had to say and will now use that input to inform the detailed design.

Efforts are underway to explore how to improve traffic safety and navigation, in particular, at the intersection outside Epping Station. This includes investigating sweep paths, road width and innovative in-ground lighting solutions to improve visibility.

We’re also working on ways to make the footpath more welcoming by grouping street furniture and trees to reduce clutter. Thanks to your feedback, we are also seeking opportunities to bring more vibrancy to the area, including potential new mural spaces to celebrate Epping’s unique character.

About the project

Exciting upgrades are coming to the east side of Epping with the City of Parramatta securing additional grant funding from the NSW Government.

The funding will allow Council to expand the scope to provide public domain improvements in Oxford Street, Langston Place, Pembroke Street and Cambridge Street. Developed in consultation with the community and following detailed traffic investigations, the draft plan proposes the following improvements:

  • New paving in selected areas
  • New kerb ramps and on-grade road pavement treatment to provide visual direction at pedestrian crossings
  • New trees and soft landscaping
  • Laneway upgrade adjacent to the Epping School of Arts Community Centre to improve connectivity to Cambridge Street
  • New street furniture
  • New decorative and feature lighting
  • Asphalt road pavement upgrade
  • Selective kerb replacement

This project is proudly funded by the NSW Government in association with City of Parramatta Council.
