The one-way traffic direction is yet to be determined. If the community is supportive of converting Albion Street to a one-way street, then additional traffic studies will be carried out to identify the optimal direction, followed by additional consultation.

Consultation opened at 9am on Monday 17 November 2025 and closed at 5pm on Monday 8 December 2025.
Local businesses, residents, rate payers that live or work or own properties on or around Albion Street were invited to take part in the consultation via notification letter, onsite signage, postcards and a geo-targeted social media campaign to ensure they were informed. The wider community were also welcome to have their say.
Council have dedicated $200,000 to tree planting for this project from our Better Neighbourhoods Program (BNP). You can find out more about the BNP via this link. If necessary, further funding will be sought depending on the community consultation results.

Previous consultation has identified greening as one of Harris Park's priorities. Albion Street has been identified as one of the hottest streets in the LGA. You can find links to relevant studies here. Council is investigating planting trees along Albion Street with the aim to cool the street, provide better amenity and beautify the area.
