A Review of Environmental Factors (REF) is a formal environmental assessment required under Part 5 of the NSW Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 for certain projects undertaken by public authorities. It considers potential impacts on matters such as biodiversity, heritage, flooding, contamination, traffic, noise and the local community, and helps ensure environmental risks are properly managed before works commence.

The Sherwin Park Upgrade REF outlines measures to manage known site contamination, protect existing trees and biodiversity, minimise noise and traffic impacts during construction, and maintain public safety.

Residents can now view the approved REF, which provides detailed information about the project, environmental assessments and mitigation measures.
