Sport & Physical Activity Participation Survey

Background

The City of Parramatta Council has teamed up with the Australian Government to pilot a survey, which collects information on how people in local communities participate (or not) in sport and physical activity.

Why are we doing this survey?

Until now, there hasn’t been consistent and reliable data unique to the City of Parramatta on how people take part (or not) in sport and physical activity. This data will aim to provide Council and its communities results that reflect their own unique characteristics and needs.

Who should complete the survey?

Everyone can complete the survey — kids, young people, adults and older Australians. It is just as important for us to hear from people who are not interested in sport as it is to hear from those who are, so please take this opportunity to tell us about your experiences.

How do I participate in the survey?

The survey takes 10 to 15 minutes to complete. Participation is voluntary and the information and feedback you provide will be treated as private and confidential. No individual will be able to be identified from the research results.

Privacy protection notice: Further information regarding the collection, protection, and use of your personal information can be found in the City of Parramatta Council’s Privacy Statement. Click here to read before progressing.

How will the data and survey results be used?

This will help us identify current and future community needs, inform Council investment, policy and programs, help sports to better understand the sport and physical activity participation landscape and track trends over time within the City of Parramatta and explore the links between participation and other influential factors.

Who can I contact for further information?
