Proposed angled parking on Morton Street, Parramatta

Have your say - Public Exhibition

About the project

City of Parramatta is seeking community feedback on a proposal to install angle parking spaces on the western side of Morton Street, between Broughton Street and Gibson Road, Parramatta.

The proposal aims to increase the number of available on-street parking spaces in the area while also improving road safety. By changing the parking arrangement from parallel parking to angle parking, the effective width of the road will be reduced, which is expected to help calm traffic and reduce vehicle speeds along this section of Morton Street.

Proposed changes

The proposal includes:

  • Installing angle parking spaces on the western side of Morton Street between Broughton Street and Gibson Road
  • Increasing the number of available on-street parking spaces
  • Creating a traffic calming effect by narrowing the usable roadway width
  • Supporting safer vehicle movements and lower traffic speeds along the street
