  • Roundabout proposal to proceed following majority community support

    Between 26 August to 23 September 2025, Council invited community feedback on the plan to install a new roundabout with pedestrian islands at the intersection of Moseley Street and Young Road in Carlingford. The goal is to improve local traffic flow, reduce vehicle speed, and enhance overall road safety.
    Council received 45 submissions from the local community, with the following breakdown:
    • Yes: 23
    • Yes, to an extent: 4
    • Unsure: 5
    • No: 13

    The results indicate strong support for the proposal, with 23 respondents in favour and 4 expressing partial support.
    Community Feedback
    Concerns were raised about speeding vehicles, with requests for traffic calming measures for westbound motorists on Moseley Street. In response, Council officers will review the design to ensure the deflection is sufficient to provide effective traffic calming in the westbound direction.

    Next Steps
    Council will proceed with the proposed works. Installation is expected to be completed by December 2026.
