If there are no substantial objections to the proposal, construction of the raised pedestrian crossing is expected to take place by November 2026. You can FOLLOW this page for updates.
The installation of this pedestrian crossing will repurpose four on-street parking spaces on Moss Street, Northmead.
Moss Street is located adjacent to Northmead Public School, and many school children cross this street to walk to and from school. Motorists, including school buses, also use Moss Street to access the kiss-and-ride area outside the school and to loop around to Kleins Road.
The proposed raised pedestrian crossing will improve safety and support the well-being of the local community. The raised threshold will also serve as a traffic-calming measure, helping to reduce vehicle speeds.
