Melrose Park - Three New Parks Naming

Bertie Park was gazetted on 29 May 2026 and Millstone Park was gazetted on 14 August 2026.

Fairway Park was rejected by the Geographical Names Board at the meeting of 3 March 2026. Initial pre-approval checks conducted by GNB, including a search of the Geographical Names Register (GNR), did not identify any duplication concerns with Fairway Park. At a later stage of the process “Fairway Drive Reserve” was identified on a map by GNB. While this name has not been formally assigned, it was nevertheless treated as a duplication.

The community is invited to review the new proposed name options for the unnamed central park and vote for their favourite names. Submissions close at 5pm on Wednesday 16 September 2026.
