Proposal for temporary removal of parking restrictions near Maronite College, Harris Park

Temporary changes to parking restrictions on surrounding streets would help to facilitate site upgrades, including the construction of an underground car park, at the Maronite Catholic Parish of Our Lady of Lebanon College.

Pending the outcomes of the public exhibition, proposed changes would be in place for a period of approximately 2 years, as outlined in the consultation material.

Affected streets are:

• Alice Street (between Harris Street and Arthur Street)
• Weston Street (between Harris Street and Arthur Street)
• Crown Street
• Prospect Street (between Good Street and Arthur Street)
• Good Street (between Alice Street and Prospect/Crown Street)
• Alfred Street (between Alice Street and Prospect Street)
• Arthur Street (between Alice Street and Prospect Street)

If the proposal proceeds, Council will follow a structured refund approach as outlined below:

• Permits issued within three months prior to the removal of the restriction: full refund
• Permits issued between three and nine months prior to the removal of the restriction: 50% refund
• Permits issued more than nine months prior to the removal of the restriction: no refund

Affected residents would be eligible for refunds in accordance with the above.

Construction vehicle parking and site-related activities will generally be managed by the school or contractor in accordance with approved construction  traffic management plans and relevant permits.

The school and its contractors are responsible for managing construction traffic, including vehicle movements and on-site safety, in accordance with approved plans and Council requirements.

The current proposal is temporary only. Any future changes would be subject to further assessment and, where appropriate, community consultation.

All submissions must be received before the close of the public exhibition period. When providing a submission, you will be required to include:

• Your full name, address and contact details
• The name of the project
• Whether you ‘support’, ‘object to’ the project or you are simply providing comment on the project
• The reasons for your position (if you wish)

Submissions should be relevant to the project being publicly exhibited. Your response does not need to be technical or detailed, and you do not need to be a specialist to have your say. General comments and community perspectives are welcome.
