Council’s investigations at this location are in response to long‑standing requests from the local community for an accessible public amenity servicing the shops and nearby area.
The facility will be installed within the existing garden bed located at the east entrance to the car park, near the shops

The proposed location is based on access to existing sewer infrastructure and was confirmed through a sewer feasibility process with Sydney Water. The site is accessible, does not impact pedestrian or driver sight lines, and is close to active shopfronts. Alternative locations at the centre have been investigated with proximity to existing water and power connections also informing the preferred location. Importantly, this location allows the facility to be delivered without the loss of any car parking spaces.
The current facilities at the rear of the centre are not a Council asset and do not meet current accessibility requirements.
The facility will be a single accessible toilet cubicle.
A small section of concrete footpath may be installed to provide accessibility to the toilet facility, and landscaping will be carried out in the surrounding garden bed.
Council have dedicated $350,000 to this project as part Council’s Better Neighbourhoods Program (BNP).
You can find out more about the BNP at: Integrated Grants & Projects Better Neighbourhood Program | City of Parramatta
Construction is currently anticipated to commence in early 2027.
Three (3) months, weather permitting.
Temporary noise, dust, and possible loss of some parking during works. Pedestrian access may change. Council will do its best to minimise disruption.
No parking spaces will be lost if the facility is installed at the proposed location.
Council will update the Participate Parramatta page with project updates.
