Shannons Paddock District Playground

Shannons Paddock District Playground is now open!

A high ropes course, climbing walls and multiple slides and swings are some of the many things to do at Westmead’s new Shannons Paddock District Playground now open.

The playground, inspired by the former Shannon’s Brick, Tile and Pottery Factory which operated near the site over 40 years ago, is the first stage of the Shannons Paddock Masterplan.

Designed for children of all ages, the playground was crafted following strong feedback from residents through community consultation and includes the following:

• A feature factory-inspired play structure with climbing walls
• A high ropes course for adventurous kids
• Multiple slides and swings including a basket swing
• In-ground trampoline
• Picnic and seating areas, new drinking fountain and fresh pathways.

Construction began in May 2025, transforming the park into a district-sized facility for the growing communities in the Westmead and Wentworthville areas.

Future stages of the Shannons Paddock Masterplan will include enhanced walking paths, natural areas and connections across the site.
