Proposed one-way northbound traffic arrangement for Trott Street, North Parramatta

Trott Street is a narrow, single-lane road with street parking allowed on the western side. The section between Albert Street and Harold Street, adjacent to Parramatta North Public School, experiences significant congestion and safety concerns during school drop-off and pick-up times.

To address these issues, a proposal to convert this section to one-way traffic was considered earlier in 2025, initially with a southbound direction proposed. However, after community consultation in July and August 2025, 62% opposed the southbound restriction due to potential lengthy detours and increased through traffic. Many respondents instead suggested that Council consider a northbound one-way direction.

In response, Council again sought community feedback in late 2025 on a revised proposal for a northbound one-way arrangement for this section of Trott Street in North Parramatta.

The proposal also includes the removal of the ‘No Stopping’ restriction located on the western side of Trott Street at the driveway of 13 Albert Street. Please note that this restriction was originally installed to provide a passing opportunity for vehicles, which will no longer be necessary under the proposed one-way arrangement.
