Doyle Ground Sports Facility Improvements

Construction of Stage 1 Doyle Ground Sports Facility Improvements is scheduled to commence on Tuesday 19 May 2026. Stage 1 of the proposed upgrade works will deliver a high-quality natural turf sports field including soil improvements, new sports field drainage, irrigation, and sports field turf, new cricket wickets, solar path lighting, and park furniture. Construction works are expected to be completed in early-2027, with the sports field re-opened in mid-2027 following a period of turf establishment (final dates subject to weather and delays).

Stage 2 upgrade works including a new sports pavilion building and cricket practice nets are currently under design. Council will be providing the community with more information on Stage 2 upgrade works soon.

Council would like to thank the community who provided feedback on the proposed Stage 1 upgrade works during a period of Community Engagement held from 16 March to 1 April 2026. When asked if “Do you support the proposed Stage 1 Sports Facility Improvements at Doyle Ground?”, community sentiment was mainly positive with 70% stating ‘yes’, they support the project and 28% stating ‘yes, to an extent’. A more in-depth review of feedback is being finalised and will be provided in the coming weeks.
