Due to limited space, the foreshore park will need to completely close for construction from Monday 13 July to Friday 31 July, weather and site conditions permitting. A diversion is available via South Street. This route has uneven terrain and may have high traffic volumes so please consider avoiding or using alternative options during this time.
The partial closure of the foreshore path is estimated to be in place until November 2026.Please plan ahead and allow extra travel time during the foreshore path upgrade.
Pedestrian and cyclist access during works
Restricted access along the foreshore will remain available during most of the construction, but the path will be narrow in places. To avoid delays, cyclists can detour via riding on road along South Street, then rejoin the foreshore path at Clyde Street.
