The City of Parramatta is progressing with works to deliver an upgraded playground at Marri Badoo Reserve in Rydalmere.
During construction site establishment, temporary fencing was installed around the worksite to ensure community safety. The fencing that was put in place did however prevent through access on The Ponds walking trail.
Council officers attended the construction site on Thursday 25 June to find an alternative solution that would allow community members to continue using this much-loved natural walking trail.
Council’s contractor has now opened a 1.5m wide passageway between the timber bushland fence and the temporary site fence, to allow access via the lower side of the playground.
Due to the nature of the site, there may be a brief period when blocking through-access is unavoidable. However, if this is required, notice will be provided and a pedestrian detour will be signposted.
