Between 19 August to 16 September 2025, Council sought community feedback regarding plans for
 • Installation of a median island in Spurway Street at Betty Cuthbert Avenue
 • A roundabout and pedestrian refuge islands at the Jackson Street intersection
 • A ‘No Right Turn – Vehicles under 9m Excepted’ restriction in Jackson Street at Club Lane

Council received 98 submissions for the proposal, with the following breakdown:
 • Yes: 31
 • Yes, to an extent: 22
 • Unsure: 8
 • No: 37
The results indicate majority support for the proposal, with 31 respondents in favour and 22 expressing partial support. There were however 37 submissions opposed to the proposal. Council has closely reviewed these submissions and identified two key changes to the proposal in response to community feedback.

 Design Changes Based on Feedback
 • The proposed pedestrian refuge island in Jackson Street has been removed from the design.
 • As a result, the ‘No Right Turn – Vehicles under 9m Excepted’ restriction at Club Lane is no longer required.

Council will proceed with the remaining proposed works. Installation is expected to be completed by June 2026.
