On 8 September 2025, the City of Parramatta Council adopted the Carlingford Parklands Landscape Design Plan, bringing the long-term vision for Thallon Street Reserve East and West, Shirley Street Reserve, and Lloyds Avenue Reserve another step closer to reality.
The final plan includes new multi-use courts, fitness stations, a themed playspace, shaded seating, shelter, lighting, and increased tree planting responding directly to community priorities for high-quality, accessible green space.
More than 100 responses were received in the final round of consultation, with 93% of participants expressing support for the proposal.
Stage one works will begin with upgrades to Thallon Street East and West Reserves. Council will continue to seek funding from State and Federal Government and other sources to deliver future stages of the project.
