The Finlaysons Creek Trail is a regional walking and cycling project that will provide a continuous and accessible active transport link between Shannons Paddock and Lytton Street Park in Wentworthville. It will also complete a key missing link in the broader regional path network, connecting the M4 Shared Path in the south with the Norwest T-Way Shared Path, Milson Park and Parramatta Park in the north. The project will improve safety and amenity for people walking and cycling, strengthen links between parks, homes and local destinations, and enhance the Finlaysons Creek corridor as an attractive and usable green space.
Due to the scale and complexity of the project, it is being delivered in stages:
- Stage 1 - Shannons Paddock (consulted on previously and commencing construction shortly)
- Stage 2 - Shannons Paddock to Wentworth Avenue
- Stage 3 - Wentworth Avenue to Lytton Park

Public Exhibition - Stages 2 and 3 Draft Concept Designs
Council is publicly exhibiting the draft concept designs for Stages 2 and 3 and is inviting submissions from the community. The design to date has been shaped by constraints such as land ownership, flooding, environmental conditions and engineering requirements, as well as Sydney Trains and Sydney Water approvals. Council is committed to delivering this project in a way that also responds to submission from the public and stakeholders. The community is encouraged to make a submission during the exhibition period to help inform the final design. All submissions will be considered before a final concept design is recommended to Council for approval.
Your submission will:
- Help refine the design
- Identify local issues and opportunities
- Ensure the project reflects community needs
- Inform the final concept design recommended to Council for approval
Have your say!
View the draft concept designs and make a submission by 5pm on Wednesday 1 July 2026.
