City of Parramatta Council has published the approved Review of Environmental Factors for the proposed Sherwin Park upgrade works. The Review of Environmental Factors (REF) assesses the potential environmental impacts of the project and identifies measures that will be implemented to avoid, minimise and manage those impacts. The REF has determined that proposed works are unlikely to have a significant impact on the environment and can proceed subject to the implementation mitigation measures.

City of Parramatta is upgrading the amenities building at Sherwin Park to provide better facilities for the local community and park users. Works are planned to start in late September 2026. The new building is expected to reopen in January 2027. Note, image is indicative only.

Over 90% of submissions indicated support for the proposed upgrades to Sherwin Park, Barton Park, PH Jeffery Reserve and Old Saleyards Reserve. In terms of next steps, Council is in the process of reviewing the feedback received and updating the Concept Package. Click below learn more!

Due to wet weather, Council have rescheduled the planned pop-up sessions to Tuesday 6 May at Old Saleyards Reserve and Wednesday 7 May at PH Jefferys Reserve. Council officers will be in attendance from 5:30 - 7:30pm both nights.
